Brown Thomas in collaboration with the Design & Crafts Council Ireland (DCCoI) have launched a five week showcase in Brown Thomas on Grafton Street in Dublin showcasing the talent of some amazing Irish Craftspeople. I popped in last week to take a look and there were some beautiful pieces on display that you can also purchase. My favourites are Ian Carty‘s stunning vases and pretty much all of the Slated boards and sidepieces!
Here is the listing of the makers that have some craft on display;Arran Street East, Caulfield Country Boards, Clarke’s of Dublin, Foxford Woollen Mills, Ian Carty Ceramics, Jerpoint Glass Studio, Max Benjamin, Rathbornes, Slated, Stephen Farnan Studio and Whackpack Furniture.
There will also be ‘Meet The Maker’ events where you can meet the designers as well as live demonstrations so you can see and learn more about the designers and their processes. For further information on the ‘Meet The Maker’ events click here.
So if you are in Dublin over the long weekend or within the next few weeks it is worth popping in. The dates that it is running from are Tuesday April 12 to Sunday May 15. If you can’t pop into the store you can also check out the pieces online here.
