I cannot believe that I am writing this post but I have some amazing news! Floralesque has won one of the coveted OMiG Digital Marketing Awards. You may remember that I have mentioned the Awards before here and I was over the moon when I made it through as a finalist again this year but never did I think I would come close to winning as the brands and businesses that were finalists are fantastic.
The Award that Floralesque has won is the Special Recognition (Best Digital) Award which I am over the moon about. The digital marketing team at OMiG describe the Award as “The Special Recognition Award is our first award without boundaries. For the ones that stand out but didn’t fall into a specific category”. Thank you so much to the Judges who had so many entries to go through – wonderful job 🙂
What makes the Award special to me is first that Floralesque was up against established and thriving businesses in Galway. To be in the same category as them is quite special especially since I am a team of one here! The second is how they are judged. There are two Awards that are voted by the public – the two People’s Choice Awards (one for less than 10 staff and one for more than 10 staff), but the rest of the Awards, including the Award that we won, are judged by 30 industry leaders who are judging each and every single one of theAward applications and in turn the finalists. The very fact that top digital marketers believed in what they saw in Floralesque really means a lot.
I had tickets booked to the Awards but something came up last minute and I couldn’t attend. I honestly never in a million years thought I would win so when I see the Twitter messages and mentions pop up on my phone I was shocked and didn’t quite believe it. A massive thank you to Dolores from Irish Health Hour for accepting the Award for me and Kieran from The Galway Player for looking after it until I could come back to Galway. I’m so sad that I missed accepting the Award myself – such a fantastic honour and I still am a little in shock.

Well done to all of the winners and the finalists as well. I also want to say a massive thank you to Robin, Maricka and the entire team of OMiG Digital Marketing – they are a fully voluntary team of passionate digital marketers who run some amazing events, The OMiG Digital Summit as well as these fantastic Awards. I would highly recommend checking them out as they really a fantastic company.
