Inglot Masterclass with Amy Fadden

I was recently invited to an Inglot Masterclass with Amy Fadden in the Inglot store in Galway. This masterclass was actually a bridal masterclass which I was excited to go to – as bridal make up in my eyes is all about results that look great on camera and are long lasting.

Amy was fantastic, she says herself that she specializes in bridal make up and that “My signature look is natural yet glamorous.” {via}. She has previously worked with MAC Cosmetics and Laura Mercier and now works for Inglot. Amy was great at explaining what she was doing and I also picked up a few tips that I thought I would share with you.

        “All the bride should bring with her is her powder and lipstick”. The rest of the look should last!

Here are some of the tips that I picked up on the days;

  • Eyebrows –  Do not get your eyebrows waxed on the morning of your wedding. The make up will not sit correctly on the skin around your brows that have just been waxed. Make sure to get them done no less than 4 days in advance.
  • Eyes –  do your eye make up before your face base make up as then any fall out can be removed without interfering with the base or under eye concealer.
  • Eyes – when doing a smokey eye make sure to not go too far above the natural eye socket as other wise you risk making the eye look smaller in photographs.
  • Base – use SPF under foundation to avoid flashback in photos. If you mix the SPF with the foundation then there may be flashback. This is also a great tip for guests!
  • Cheek Contour – imagine a shelf from the highest point of the ear down to your mouth – the cheekbone is shelf – and you put your contour ‘dusted under’ the shelf. Such a great tip on where your contour should go in everyday make up as well.

And here is the end result – I love the chic, simple look that has been created – this will look brilliant in photos on the big day and the subtle smokey eye is stunning. This look is all about a no make up, make up look which highlights the face without making it looking shiny in photos.
