Modafix Earrings by Triona O'Donnell

Triona from Modafix recently launched her debut jewellery collection and to date just months after launch has been seen at London Fashion Week! Quite the achievement so early in her career and today I wanted to show you her earrings as they are beautiful.

“It’s a little piece of home: the shells are handpicked, treated and handcrafted here in Sligo. Afterall, ‘Sligeach’ (the Irish for Sligo) means ‘abounding in shells’” – via Modafix.

Triona’s collection is literally created with parts of Sligo. She collects shells from local beaches and then creates her pieces. They were a sell out when first stocked in Shells Cafe in Sligo and it is easy to see why. They continue to sell out each time that they are stocked which is a fantastic complaint to have. The addition of the pearl in the centre of the shell is such a great idea.

One of the things I like about her collection is the packaging. The attention to detail that she has paid is great to see. So many people when starting out leave the packaging to last minute. But not Triona. The boxes are a perfect size and have a cute little shell on the box as well. The boxes are made from recycled materials that came from sustainable forests. With the larger earrings, they also come with a polaroid picture. This is not something that I have seen done before and I think it adds another dimension to her pieces as each one is unique.

Triona kindly sent me a pair of her small earrings and they are beautiful – it really feels like I am bringing a part of home with me when I wear them. You can read a full interview with Triona about both her blogging journey and her collection here.
