I just love the white button-down shirt. It’s such a classic, and yet so versatile. If you’ve got one (or more) of these great basic pieces in your wardrobe, you can create all sorts of looks and combinations for every occasion — from work and business to casual weekend dates.
As a general rule, I think that these shirts look best when unbuttoned down to the bust line. It gives the look shape, flair and style. You can make the most of the resulting V to draw attention to a chic necklace, pop a cute singlet underneath for a layered effect, or even show off a hint of a sexy lace bra for your special dinner date.
1. High-Waist Skirt
For comfort and elegance at work, try pairing that white button-down shirt with a high-waisted skirt. The skirt can be long and flowing, mid-length and fitted, or even with a flirty slit. 5. Dressed up Denim
The ideal way to mix up your white button-down shirt for a cool and casual look when you’re ready to chill is to rock it with some denim. It can be denim jeans or skinny jeans, some cute denim shorts, or even a pair of overalls. The best part about pairing denim with a shirt is that you can make it as stylish or chill as you like — it’s all in the accessories and the shoes.
