High street retailer COS showed for the first time at Pitti Uomo 94 (for those wondering what Pitti Uomo is please click here) yesterday in Florence and it was a magical dancing affair. As you may know, we do quite like the COS brand having shared some of their previous collections, so was delighted that showed for the first time. View Post

COS Spring Summer 2018

There are some brands that I always gravitate towards, and COS is certainly one of them. I adore their minimalist aesthetic with fine tailoring and unique colour palettes.  And it is for that reason they have featured many times on Floralesque.  View Post

COS X Usha Doshi Creating with Shapes Floralesque

I think that by now many people have realised that I am quite the fan of the more minimalistic retail store COS (you can read posts about the brand here) and love going to their press days to see what will be coming up in the next season. I own quite a few pieces from the brand as well as their sister brand & Other Stories. I think it is the overall aesthetic and always interesting silhouette that draws me in and the general overall great tailoring that the brand is known for. View Post

Colour Blocking with COS this Autumn

Sometimes I think that ‘styling’ an outfit can be made slightly over complicated. There can be so much conflicting articles on what is ‘on trend’, what is ‘last season’ etc. etc. I don’t think that it needs to be so complicated and there is one ‘trend’ that holds throughout most seasons and years since it inception in the 1960’s – colour blocking. COS pay tribute to Agnes Martin with the Guggenheim“When I think of art I think of beauty. Beauty is the mystery of life. It is not in the eye it is in the mind. In our minds there is awareness of perfection.” – Agnes Martin.

COS’s celebration of Agnes Martin with the Guggenheim

Many of those that are interested in abstract art may be familiar with Agnes Martin (1912–2004). Those who are not – well this collection may suddenly peak your interest. Agnes had the most amazing eye for beautiful minimalist detail in her abstract artworks and I actually love many of her pieces. I especially love the soft, muted colours in her Untitled #2  from 1992 and also Untitled #5 from 1998. There is something so relaxing and mesmerising about some of her geometric pieces. Artsy.net actually has some great images of her pieces here. View Post

Clean lines. Minimalist. Geometric. Luxury. Tailored. Beauty. Structure. Flow. Modern. Raw. Decadence. These are just some of the words that are conjured up when I think of Swedish brand COS. I was at their Autumn Winter Press Day yesterday and their pieces ticked so many of these boxes. View Post
