Beautiful pieces from Mairead deBlácaMairead deBláca is clearly an Irish Designer whose pieces really resonate with me as her work has been on Floralesque multiple times (for example here and here) and today I wanted to share some more pieces that I have just fallen in love with!

Today I thought that I would share the meaning behind three of her collections – the mountain collection, moon beams and night moon. All really resonate with me and I love that they are personal to the designer and you can see the love that she has for her work in every piece.

Irish Mountains

Mairead has painted many landscapes inspired by the mountains of Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way. She is drawn to the bright colours of the heathers, the texture of the wild gorse and the darkness of the ribbon lakes. The Irish Mountain collection translates these images into a 3D piece of jewellery that will keep the Irish landscape close to your heart.

Moon Beams

As with all deBláca jewellery this night moon pendant is inspired by the art of Mairead and is reflective of her childhood.  Designed in Ireland and reflective of nights along the Wild Atlantic Way and the Ancient East. This crescent moon reminds Mairead of Moon Beams which are the line of light that comes from the moon. Growing up in county Cork Mairead has memories of clear nights lit by the moon beams.

Night Moon

As with all of deBláca jewellery this night moon pendant is inspired by the art of Mairead and is reflective of her childhood.  Designed in Ireland and reflective of nights along the Wild Atlantic Way and the Ancient East. Night Moon captures the surface of the moon on a clear night.  Growing up in county Cork Mairead has memories of clear nights full of shooting stars and observing the ever-changing moon in search of the man on the moon. For many centuries people, have gazed at the night sky in wonder and hope. Mairead has designed this collection with the same sense of wonder and hope she felt as a child.

My personal favourite from her at the moment is her ‘Make a Wish’ collection – I love the simplicity of the piece and yet it is striking. Close your eyes and make a wish. All you have to do is believe and dream.  The wishbone can be worn as one piece or can be ‘broken apart’ and can be shared with that special someone which I think is just lovely.
