Christmas Gift Guide – Art & Prints

Christmas Gift Guide - Art & Prints

As you may have seen from my Jewellery Christmas Gift Guide earlier this week, I am doing my gift guides on Irish made and Irish Designed designed pieces as I think it is important to support local makers and shop local this year. There are some absolutely amazing makers and creators here and today I am only touching the very tip of the iceberg of the artistic talent on our doorstep.

Jill &  Gill

Jill & Gill Troll - Neon Orange

At this stage, I am sure that many of you know how much I love the Jill & Gill prints! Their prints are high quality are also super fun – I love the throwback to the retro toy telephone that I am sure so many of us had, as well as the amazing Troll prints!! These would make the most fun additions to so many rooms.  We have actually featured them before here if you would like to learn more about the talented duo! And they also now do some amazing apparel now as well… I may have asked Santa for the Iris sweater…

Reddin Designs

Reddin Designs Animal

I am a massive fan of prints as gifts as nicely framed they can be personal and by picking the right print you can really show how well you know a person. What always drew me to his work is the detail and also his use of colour. You can also feel his love for his local environment especially in the surfing and mountain inspired pieces. You can read more about what inspires him here. I would highly recommend checking out his work if you are looking for a modern, bright and individual print for someone for Christmas.

Petal to Petal

Petal to Petal Lace Fern (Small) Limited Edition Giclee Print

Lily the designer behind Petal to Petal has created some of the most uniquely beautiful pieces of art that I have seen in recent years. Her prints use lace as an inspiration and are simply breathtaking. I love the fine detail and the elegance within each one as well. To learn more about her inspiration behind the designs click here. Certainly, if you would like to buy someone a memorable piece of art from Ireland her shop is certainly one to check out.

Claudine O’Sullivan

Claudine O’Sullivan Bear

Claudine is a London based Irish Artist who creates distinctive hand-drawn illustrations that are so vibrant and energetic that I was instantly drawn to them. Her dynamic animal illustrations are just beautiful and my top favourites are certainly the robin and the bear. Each of her prints are very striking and if you gave that one friend who has everything then check out Claudine’s shop as no doubt these would be a unique and wonderful gift.
