So far on Floralesque, we have shared out Christmas Gift Guides for Irish Designed Jewellery and also Irish Designed Art & Prints. Well, today we are back with some lovely suggestions for Irish Designed Bags! I am quite the lover of beautiful handbags and there are plenty of options from talented Irish Designers and Makers to choose from.
Atlantic Equipment Project
How could I not include the fab Ashleigh with her amazing Atlantic Equipment Project brand! She has featured on the blog before and no doubt will again! Her bags are some of my favourites, they are very long wearing and beautifully made. There are plenty of styles to choose from but my favourite is still my Sea Green Canvas Rolltop Backpack. I like them for their functionality and many of my friends are also fans which is always a good sign.
Emma Manley’s brand Manley is one that I have admired for many years. She creates the most beautiful clothing, however, it is her bags that really drew my eye. She creates beautiful leather bags that would add a beautiful statement to any outfit. I loved learning more about her brand here. These would be the perfect gift for someone who loves fashion and would appreciate supporting Irish Design – they are just exquisite.
Irish Designer Una Burke creates leather art like no one else that I have seen. Her work is detailed, beautiful and the essence of fine craftsmanship. Each piece is crafted entirely by hand in her South London Atelier using Vegetable Tanned Bovine Leathers and Solid Brass Fittings. You can view her full range here.
Lovern Leather Goods
Lovern Leather Goods creates simply stunning barrel bags. The story of how the bags came to be is also just wonderful and I love that Sandra truly created the brand out of her love for the barrel bag. You can read all about her inspiration here. Lovern blend the traditional with the contemporary in products of timeless durability and the result is something that would make the most wonderful Christmas gift.
Ana Faye creates beautifully made leather bags. I am especially a fan of her pyramid bags as their shape is so eye-catching and unique. Every collection is handmade in Ireland and England in limited numbers, ensuring exclusivity for those who like to cut a new path off the beaten track. You can read more about her journey here. A bag from Ana’s collection would undoubtedly make an unforgettable Christmas present.
It was Ale’s beautiful clutches that first drew my eye. She uses bright, bold colours that make her intricate patterns and designs really stand out. Ale is based in Ireland and her designs exude elegant opulence with an artisan touch. A clutch from her collection would be simply a stunning present to find under the Christmas tree.
Mother Says Design
Tish creates the most wonderful and useful totes. The core philosophy is to create elegant clothing and accessories which are made of a high quality. They are designed to withstand daily wear and tear as well the fast pace fashion trends of today. I love that she wants her products to be long wearing as in this era of fast fashion, buying an item that will last is more important now than ever.
