Sometimes I think that ‘styling’ an outfit can be made slightly over complicated. There can be so much conflicting articles on what is ‘on trend’, what is ‘last season’ etc. etc. I don’t think that it needs to be so complicated and there is one ‘trend’ that holds throughout most seasons and years since it inception in the 1960’s – colour blocking.
Colour blocking is basically where you contrast large blocks in your outfit. I like to do this with brighter colours for a more dramatic effect, but you can also do colour blocking with darker colours as well. If you are quite adventurous you can choose opposing colours on the colour wheel and do colour blocking with dramatically contrasting colours which can be fun.
And colour blocking can mean more than just one square of colour with another square of colour. It can mean bold lines in a different colour or sometimes wide stripes work well. In all honesty, there are so many different ways to wear this trend.
There is one store this season that has done colour blocking really well and I am loving the tones that they are using. And that store is COS. If you are a long time reader of Floralesque, then you will know that I am a big fan of COS and feature them on a regular basis. You can read more about COS here.
All of these are pieces are cosy fine-gauge knits and look so comfy as well. If you love these pieces as much as I do, you can shop COS online by clicking here or else pop along in store to check them out.
Nothing to declare just sharing some fab knits 🙂
