There are some brands that I always gravitate towards, and COS is certainly one of them. I adore their minimalist aesthetic with fine tailoring and unique colour palettes. And it is for that reason they have featured many times on Floralesque. The COS Spring Summer 2018 collection explores organic shapes and natural materials while taking inspiration from the past, present and imagined future. The draping and layering in this collection is just beautiful and it is that which drew me in.

The qualities of paper are integral to the collection and are evident from design conception and throughout the work process; from the pattern cutting to the paper draping and 3D work. You can certainly see this influence in the way that the folds and fabric interact with itself. It is quite unique and certainly not a look that I have seen in recent collections on the high street.

The composition is completed with a natural, refined colour palette which moves from purest white through to organic papery and wood-inspired tones to summer browns combined with powdery accents of ochre, leaf green, mint, navy, petrol and red clay.
All in all – just beautiful.
Keep an eye on the COS Website for when this collection gets released! The lavender tones really will be just perfect for transitioning into Spring and Summer.
