Over the past year, it has been amazing to see the changes in people’s habits with regards to sustainability and also slow fashion. And I feel that the 2019 Fashion Revolution Week will be even more successful than previous years because of this.
On 24 April 2013, the Rana Plaza building in Bangladesh collapsed. 1,138 people died and another 2,500 were injured, making it the fourth largest industrial disaster in history. That’s when Fashion Revolution started.
Fashion Revolution Week is exactly as it sounds – to help in the work towards a more sustainable fashion industry that values people, environment, profit and creativity in equal measure. Fashion Revolution itself is a non-profit organisation with a presence in over 100 countries around the world. And the focus that they put on the fashion industry and the issues that it has is remarkable.
The week runs from 22nd April to 28th April and there are loads of events on around the world, but today I wanted to share the events on in Ireland in case you wanted to pop along.
