Welcome to Floralesque! This is the first post on my new blog about the Glamour at the G’ Fashion Show and I am hoping that it will be my little corner of the web to showcase Irish Talent, beauty finds and general ramblings. If you ever want to get on touch you can find me on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and also on email by emailing floralesqueblog@gmail.com
I thought that for my first post I would cover a Fashion Show that I attended last year – the ‘The Glamour at the G’ Fashion show that was held in aid of 3 amazing charities – Console, Irish Autism Action & COPE Galway. It was hosted by Todays FM’s Louise Duffy and it showcased the cream of Irish Fashion Designers and also the amazing talents of some West of Ireland Milliners.
Glamour at the G’ Fashion Show
One of the most exciting parts was the first view of Galway designer Joanne Hynes’ A/W 2014 Collection. I loved the embellishment and the floatiness of some of the dresses. It was a wearable collection that uniquely included perspex pieces on some of the designs.

What I find so appealing about this fashion show in particular is that it showcases Irish designers and there are some exciting designers emerging and some are already getting recognition on an international scale.
The Irish designers that were showcased were:
- Joanne Hynes
- Emma Manley
- Natalie B. Coleman
- Lennon Courtney
- Laura Jayne Halton
- Niamh O’Neill
- Helen Steele

My favourite collection of the evening was by Helen Steele. The patterns were just beautiful and very eye catching. The floating dresses and stunning colours just made me smile and I certainly would wear every piece from this collection!

The G hotel, Galway
The G hotel is a 5 Star Philip Tracey designed hotel situated in Galway, Ireland and was a wonderful venue to host what is becoming a fashion highlight of the year. We were treated to a Prosecco drinks reception with some delightful canopies (yum!), and then we were brought into the fashion show area where the lighting, seating and general ambiance led to a most relaxed and excited atmosphere. After the show itself, we then went through to the G Suite in the hotel and I attended the after-party with some wonderful live music by Keith McDonald & Band and we danced the night away. Certainly an event that I will attend again.
There was a press presence at the event and Glenda Gilson was interviewing people for Xpose, and I also spotted the beautiful Erika Fox from Retroflame, she was wearing a Natalie B. Coleman creation.

A glimpse of some of my additional touches…

I intend to start a series show casing the best of Irish designers in the coming months and I will be certainly featuring some of the designers from this show in the series.
What are your thoughts? Did you love the Helen Steele collection as much as I did?
