The latest Joanne Hynes collection for Dunnes Stores may just be my favourite yet. The name of the Spring Summer collection ‘You Do You and I’ll Do Me‘, and this is the fourth collection that she has created with the well know high street retailer.
Joanne knows how to create a show-stopping collection. I adore the entire colour palette of the collection, it is bold, vibrant and leaps from both the rails and on the models on the catwalk. The collection showcased the very essence of what a Joanne Hynes collection is – an exciting collection full of prints, colour and unexpected twists! The unexpected twist for me in this collection was boobs! There were earrings and necklaces with boobs on them – I was not expecting them at all, but they of course sold out.
Interestingly, the entire preview was held in Dunnes Stores head office in Dublin. It was a unique experience, as they had emptied all of their meeting rooms and they became art installations showcasing some of Joanne’s collection. It was a fun experience, and added another unexpected element to the showing.
Some of the standout pieces from the collection for me; first is the rain mac. It is a change to a more functional piece for the collaboration and one that I was so sad that I missed at the pre-sale, but did manage to get my mitts on as soon as it went live on the Dunnes Stores website! I also purchased the tote that walked down the catwalk with it, though whether I wear them togeather is another question!
Another piece was the first image below on the left – that BEAUTIFUL jacket. Again I couldn’t quite resist the purchase. A Joanne Hynes jacket that I purchased last year is still one of the favourite items that I own and I have no doubt that this jacket investment will always be worn for many years to come.
