Over the past few months, I have been getting more and more into listening to podcasts. They are fantastic to just put on and with my wireless headphones, I am completely free to do whatever I need to around the house or go for a run etc. It can be hard to find new podcasts though as the charts often have the same ones in the charts (for good reason), so when I heard of the new Business of Fashion (BOF) one I knew I had to share the details.
For those who may not be familiar, BOF was founded in 2007 and gives daily updates on all things fashion and fashion business related. I am subscribed to their mailing list and find it invaluable to keep up to date on what is happening in the fashion world and know the major trends that are happening at the top level in the industry.
When I heard that they were releasing a podcast I actually got quite excited! The quality of both the writing and the information on their website is excellent, so knew that the podcast would be worth listening to. Plus I couldn’t wait to see who they spoke to.
The first episode features José Neves and was launched last Friday. It will discuss his story, of how a young Portuguese computer engineer who took his business, Farfetch, from a self-funded start-up in 2007 to a global fashion marketplace on track to a multi-billion dollar IPO. It is great that they are starting with such an inspirational person whose business has grown to be an amazing platform.
I am also quite excited about episode number two… Diane von Furstenberg on Building a Business in a Man’s World! This is one podcast that I actually have a reminder on my phone to check on as I think if the quality of the people involved are as high as they are now, it will be a fascinating listen.
