Penny’s High Summer Collection 2019

I love to share the High Summer collection by Primark (Pennys to us in Ireland! 😊) as the brand generally gets it bang on with the trends for the season and there are always one or two pieces which really shine through.

Over the years I have collected some of their Summer pieces and still have and wear them. If you choose wisely and pick the more basic, classic pieces they will last season to season. Another tip is to wash everything in a delicate wash! I have done this for the past number of years and have found that my clothes have lasted longer.

Penny’s High Summer Collection 2019There are some fab utilitarian vibes and bold colours in this collection, that really create some fun and playful look s – no matter what or where the destination is. There are also some snakeskin prints, but I am not sure how these will translate year on year.

The themes for the collection are Desert Traveller, Point Break and Y2K. Overall, the entire collection would make some fantastic pieces for holidays, and if we get a Summer like in 2018 they will be perfect. And as always Pennys is bang on trend for the season.

The Desert Traveller palette consists of soft beiges, rich terracotta, chocolate browns and khaki greens giving a modern twist on the utilitarian look. Some of my favourite pieces are within this part of the collection.

Penny’s High Summer Collection 2019The Point Break collection is full of 90’s memories – think bleached denim, kaftans and psychedelic crochet pieces. Key colours in the collection are burnt orange, mustard and cobalt blue, combining to create a fun look with a twist. And finally, the Y2K is full of 90’s satin, mesh detail, cargo pockets and electric snake print. Fringed kimonos, all-over sequined swimsuits and neon shades exude youthful and expressive vibes for summer.
