Perfect Valentine’s Day Gift for Her

Perfect Valentine's Day Gift for Her

It is that wonderful cheesy time of the year where we celebrate Valentine’s Day, and buy little gifts for those we love. And I do also firmly believe that if you are not in a relationship, then you should also treat yourself – after all, it’s the most important relationship that you will ever have. That relationship without yourself is the most important and one that you have to work on!

So today I wanted to share some beautiful pieces that would make the most wonderful gifts (for her or for you!), and they are simply stunning and detailed and hand made by Irish Designers.

First up has to be one of Sara O’Neill’s stunning Éadach pieces. I saved up and treated myself to two of her pieces in 2018 as I had been looking at her work for years and could no longer resist! I purchased the Éadach Lost Souls Silk Print Oversized Scarf which I adore wearing, and then also the Lost Souls Silk Pocket Square which my mum is kindly framing for me so it becomes a piece of art. I adore all of her work, and I love each piece has its own story to tell, and that each piece is woven with those Irish legends that I grew up hearing. And I do think when you invest in a piece like this, it is one that you can pass onto the next generation.

Next up is something similar but also very different, Wild Cocoon by Deirdre Duffy is a wonderful collection of traditionally woven scarves and blankets. They are woven here in Ireland, in Co. Donegal using 100% Merino Lambswool by master weavers. The pieces are truly unique and will make a wonderful gift which again I think will last for generations if looked after. My wonderful fiancé gifted me the stunning Shallow Seas Scarf for my birthday this year and I love it. If you want to learn more about Deirdre and her stunning pieces, just click here.

Jewellery is always a fantastic idea for a gift and in Ireland, we are so lucky to have some really talented designers and creators where you choose a delightful piece from. Here is just a small selection of pieces that I just adore.

Chupi is another Irish Brand who tells a story through their work. And what I love about her brand is that there is something for everyone, from delicate necklaces, sparkling rings, and beautiful bracelets, and each tell its own tale. My personal favourite collection of Chupi’s is the Hope is a Thing with Feathers collection, not sure why but it just speaks to me and I adore it, and the necklace is definitely on my wish-list.

Tríona is another Irish Brand whose pieces I think are a little different and would make the most amazing gift for someone. The pieces are hand made in Sligo by designer Triona O’Donnell and I especially love the cloud necklace (sold out in 9ct gold, still available in silver!), and I also own the little raindrop which I love layering with longer necklaces as it is just adorable.

Jill & Gill is an amazing Irish Brand run by powerhouses Jill Deering and Gillian Henderson. They create some stunning apparel options that would make the most perfect gift, especially if she loves fashion or women icons. I already have their sold-out Iris sweatshirt and the quality of their work is just outstanding. If you would like to learn more about Jill & Gill, just click here and you can shp the broand here.

There are so many other designers and options to look at from prints from Dusty Boy Designs to silk scarves from Ciara Silke to pieces from Emma Manley. What are your favourite Irish designers to shop from?
