When I was sent the Hair Experts Instant Touch Up Kit in Dark Brown I wasn’t expecting it to be something that I end up keeping in my daily makeup kit. But since I received it I have it thrown into my bag as a ‘just in case’ product.
What the Hair Experts have created is a very handy little root touch up kit for covering greys in between getting your colour or set of highlights done. Since I am so dark haired, sometimes a grey hair pops up (or more than one…) and it can be quite obvious. And often I don’t yet need to get my whole hair done so this is the perfect little kit to use. The kit comes with the powder, a mirror and also a double sided brush.
The kit comes with the powder, a mirror and also a double sided brush. It is super easy to use, you literally just brush on the powder to cover your roots. It doesn’t fully cover everything but it certainly makes it more disguised and not as obvious. Since it is a powder (rather than a spray), it is very lightweight and doesn’t feel heavy or sticky on my hair. It also lasts the full day when I use it and then just easily washes out.
What I also quite like is that by looking at the black compact style case – no one generally knows what is inside. And I like that. If anything it looks like a brown kit (just with larger brushes), and it is small enough to slip easily into my makeup bag!
When using the kit – I would advise building up the colour gradually and also avoid getting onto your skin. Since the dark brown is so dark, you can easily see when you swipe onto your skin 🙂 But there are very few negatives on this product – I like the coverage that it gives, the packaging and how easy it is both to use and also to wash out. There has been quite a few ‘root touch up’ products released recently but this one to me works and I won’t be looking for another.
To be honest this is a product that I didn’t know I needed until I tried it. And now it’s a firm favourite. It’s also quite affordable at €9.99 in Boots which makes it a good option to many people.
