When Jasper Conran’s Autumn Winter Collection hit the runway at London Fashion Week, I gasped – it was captivating. The collection was daring, vibrant, and show-stopping. His show has been one of the stand out of this Fashion Week Season and for good reason.
The designer has been bold with his catwalk choices, the block primary colours against the white catwalk meaning that all focus was on the clothes. And in my opinion, an ode to those catwalk days where it was not about who was in the Frow but all about the clothes that were shown on the catwalk. In recent years, sometimes it has felt that many cameras were on the front row and what they were doing and taking the focus off the clothes on the catwalk. But, this collection changed that. You could not but have all eyes on the catwalk as the beautiful models wore clothes that had a elegant aesthetic.
I adore the strong colour blocking that he has shown, and the pieces on their own appear to be quite timeless and elegant in the all right ways. The draping on many of the outfits and the geometry in folds made it a collection that will no doubt shape many high street looks in the Autumn Winter Season.
The entire collection shows how good craftsmanship can dominate the runway, and the pieces that he put on show were also wearable. They would make amazing investment pieces that in themselves are timeless and oh to be one that could shop his collection.
