You may remember here where I shared the amazing news that Floralesque had been shortlisted in the Irish Blog Awards Ireland 2018. Well, today I got the unbelievable news that we have made the shortlist in both categories that we were longlisted for!
I think that being shortlisted in the Fashion Category means quite a lot. Floralesque is not your typical fashion blog, there are very rare OOTDs (outfit of the day), and I don’t share hauls. I love following blogs like that (and follow many – InTheFrow is certainly one of my favourites as she is turning it into a business) but that is just not what I personally want to share. I love Irish Design and sharing my latest discoveries and interviews with the people behind the clothes. I love finding an emerging designer and giving them a little bit of help with promotion and learning about why they are choosing design as a career. And then when we interview established designers, I love learning about their journies and their inspirations and what drives them.
And being shortlisted in the Lifestyle section is just awesome. We recently started the ‘What’s on in Galway’ series, and that has received some great feedback. There are travel, food and general life posts throughout the website so getting recognition of them is fantastic.
Getting through to the next stage in Awards like these is such a great nod to my blog and shows that people do enjoy reading which is always a nice feeling. I want to say a massive thank you for getting me this far as it does mean a lot and also best of luck to all of the other nominated as well as there are some amazing bloggers on the list!
