It is certainly one of the most talked about store launches in recent years and with good reason! & Other Stories are coming to Grafton Street, Dublin before the end of the year (we don’t have a date just yet!) and everyone I mention it to is so excited for it to open. Oh, and did I mentioned that it will be a 3-floor store! When I was at their Spring Summer 2017 preview (you can read about it here) – we also got a preview to the stock from their ‘Celebrate’ collections that will actually be in store when it opens.
& Other Stories is from the same family that brought us COS and H&M but in my opinion feels more high end than H&M and more on a similar level to COS. The Scandinavian brand is one that creates for a woman with a love for fashion but creates her own style. What I do like about the brand as well though is the price point – it is not completely out of reach for us mere mortals and I may already have shopped online… as they do ship to Ireland 🙂
“We’re very happy to have found a great location right in the heart of Dublin. We look forward to seeing our first-ever Irish store come alive”, Samuel Fernstrom, the Managing Director of & Other Stories
What I have mentioned before – & Other Stories have two design houses – one in Paris and one in Stockholm. Both of them have very different aesthetics. I find it so interesting that in store they merge both togeather and the company give equal floor space to each atelier. Both collections have a very polished feel to them and by putting on a piece or two you can feel pulled togeather.
The Paris Atelier Aesthetic
“The Paris Atelier is a world of fashion, colours, patterns and prints. With the French couture heritage at heart, all of the designers here have a different specialty, like ready-to-wear, shoes, bags, accessories or jewellery. But we all work closely together and share the same inspiration, which we interpret in our own way. It is all about creating a compelling vision that stays true to our Parisian soul, bringing it to life.” – Colombe Campana, Designer
The Stockholm Atelier Aesthetic
“A day in the Stockholm Atelier can be filled with so many different things, a photo shoot in our studio, a fitting session for a new dress, testing new fragrances or paper bags being painted, all at once. Having such a broad mix under one roof makes our creative process rather unique. We love sharing our stories in various ways in our stores, on stories.com and through social media, giving people an idea of who we are and the work that goes into the things we do.” – Sara Hildén Bengtsson, Creative Director
Paris Atelier Celebrate Collection
Designed in the Paris Atelier, this collection reflects the aesthetics of retro-futurism, which is a key inspiration throughout the AW/16 season. The ready-to-wear features elaborate coats, dresses and trousers in a black colour scheme that is highlighted by different textures, sequins and embellishments. Decorative shoes and bold accessories add to the eclectic Parisian flair and capture the essence of the festive season.
Stockholm Atelier Celebrate Collection
Designed in the Stockholm Atelier, this collection conveys a sleek and precise expression that is key for the AW/16 mood. The ready-to-wear pieces range from an ultra-feminine dress and skirt covered in silver sequins alongside a sharply tailored suit. A contemporary take on traditional accessories, such as high heeled shoes and gold-coloured jewellery, add a special kind of magic that salutes this time of the year.
Oh and did I mention that they have previously collaborated with Rodarte Swoon!! Since they are not yet opened in Dublin yet, you can certainly shop online here, and not surprisingly their Instagram is on point. Let the countdown commence…
And here are a few more images to keep you going until the store opens… 🙂
The store opens at 12.00 on December 9th.
For this celebratory occasion & Other Stories has a special gift for the first 50 customers.
