Floralesque has covered the 2016 and 2017 Autumn Presentations from the Council of Irish Fashion Designers (CIFD), and today was the 2018 presentation so I am delighted to be sharing some of my favourite looks from some of Ireland’s top designers.

For those who are not familiar the Council of Irish Fashion Designers (CIFD) – it is comprised of Irish fashion designers, milliners and accessories labels. It is an organisation that promotes Irish Design and wishes to build an aspirational brand for the premium sector of the Irish fashion industry and to actively encourage and nurture new entrants to the Irish fashion industry {via}. I love that they are run by people who are part of the fabric of Irish Design in Ireland – Eddie Shanahan is the Chairperson, Heidi Higgins the Secretary and Niamh O’Neill the Press Officer. Since they are so woven into the Industry they understand what designers may need so I think that it is a great body to be in place.

The 2018 AW Presentation did not disappoint. And there was an added twist this year – many of the designers collaborated with craftspeople (members of the Design and Crafts Council of Ireland) to create some simply stunning pieces. I love that the designers were challenged in a different way, and their talent and those that they collaborated with really shone through.
