As many of you will know by now, the QVC Try it, Love it (TILI) are some of my favourite Beauty Boxes, I find them some of the best value at the moment and often that many of the products I have not tried before so it serves it purpose for me to try out new products and some I have repurchased full size since.
This box I have found slightly better than the last and the Rose Gold Alpha-H Liquid is just stunning! It doesn’t feel like that long ago since the last box, to be honest, but I checked and they are bang on with their next release. Also, on a slight side note, I actually love the quality of the boxes that they use – the cardboard is quite thick and I love using them for storing things like my nail polishes. Anyway, onto the contents of the box for Summer!
Alpha-H Liquid Rose Gold (50ml)
This is a brand new release and not even available to buy yet! I received one of the original cult classics in a previous box and loved it. So I am excited to try out this limited edition one. I have found this really good for just exfoliating my skin, it is something that I need to use as instructed as I overloaded on using it before and my skin was not happy. This version is supposed ot be better than the original for with more sensitive or dry skins so it should suit me better.
OPI Fiji Collection Nail Polish (15ml)
This polish is from their new spring/summer 17 Fiji collection and sadly I received the ‘Is that a Spear in your pocket’, which is a deep teal. That colour does not suit my skin so I will be giving this away. I was hoping to receive the ‘Two-timing the Zones’ which is a vibrant candy pink and just stunning! I do wish that there was not a nail polish in this to be honest – most beauty boxes do a polish and my storage is over flowing at this stage. Have no doubt that the polish will look fab on someone else though as I always find OPI to be a great quality polish.
Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser (30ml)
Ah, one of my Holy Grail products. This small sample comes with one of their muslin cloths which are great. I love this cleanser and often will use as the second cleanse – after using as oil cleanser as my first cleanse. It leaves my skin feeling squeaky clean and to date, my skin has never reacted to it. It just gives that great clean feeling but my skin does not feel stripped as it is quite gentle on the skin. One I would always recommend to friends looking for a new cleanser (though I am sure most of us have tried this by now).
Erno Laszlo Cleansing Oil and Cleansing Bar (15ml and 17g)
I am SO excited about this and it was one of the reasons that I decided to buy the box. This is a two-step cleansing ‘program’ (not sure how else to describe it!), and I always double cleanse when wearing makeup. To me, the first cleanse is to remove your makeup and then the second cleanse is to clean your skin. And by the way, if you wear SPF and no makeup, I would still double cleanse. I received the hydrate pack which I had hoped for – it claims to help to restore moisture to your skin. I am really looking forward to trying this out. Oh and did I mention that this is credited by Marilyn Monroe as her reason for good skin…
It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream (4ml) – medium
I have read rave reviews about this product but sadly it is too dark for my skin 🙁 It claims to be enriched with hydrolysed collagen, peptides, niacin, hyaluronic acid and vitamins A, B, C and E which all sound wonderful but I don’t think that this will suit me. But I am going to put this on my shopping list as it sounds fab.
Benefit Roller Lash (3g)
I already have this as purchased it full size before. It is not my favourite mascara but does a fine job. I love these wee mascaras for throwing into my handbag on a night out. For some reason, when I am on a night out I never feel like my lashes are big enough – many a night I come home with 10 layers of mascara on 🙂 This one is water resistant so good if you are out with great friends who have you crying laughing!
Ultrasun Face SPF30 (25ml)
This is great and will be perfect for my handbag though do not think it will last me very long. I have tried this out and it is super lightweight on my skin. Personally, I do not believe in just applying your sun cream once a day which this claims to be so I would reapply any sun cream more than just in the morning. It says it offers heavy-duty UVA and UVB protection while maintaining your skin’s moisture levels and reducing the appearance of wrinkles.Win win really.
Vita Liberata 10 Minute Tan (20ml)
I am not someone who normally tans. I love my SPF and don’t mind being pale so not sure that this self-tan lotion will be utilised but I have heard good things about the brand and this can be washed off after just 10 minutes which is great.
Julien Farel Vitamin Shampoo & Vitamin Conditioner (Both 50ml)
This is where the box let me down. To me, if you are sending me a shampoo and conditioner to try out – then they are one item and not two as the box as split them out. Bit cheeky in my opinion. However, moving on… the scent of these is subtle which I enjoy and they will be perfect for travel. They claim to be for weakened or damaged hair so perfect for my mop of hair 🙂 The shampoo is enriched with hyaluronic acid, panthenol, and vitamins B, C and E and the conditioner claims to deliver balanced hydration to improve the feeling of manageability without weighing down your hair and is enriched with marine collagen. The ingredients sound luscious so these could be winners.
They do tease about what the contents of the box are in the run up to the release – so this is one of the few boxes where you know the contents before you buy. It is also not one with a rolling subscription. You buy as you go which I think is easier.
To read about the previous October and February beauty boxes you can click here for October and click here for February. You can see that they do offer varied products and some of the sizes are quite generous. I am such a nerd with them and follow their Facebook page to make sure that I buy one as soon as they go live – they do sell out each time so if you want one, I would say to pick one up sooner rather than later 🙂 What did you think of this box?
