With the days getting brighter and the snow firmly a memory (well in Galway anyway), my mood has certainly lightened and I may have even worth a pair of sunglasses last week! And with that comes a need to update my wardrobe with brighter colours and just a bit more fun. Go back to your childhood, and think strong reds, bold blues, eye-popping fuschia and bright yellows and you are bang on the trend.

This trend is certainly one that will pull you out of the Winter gloom and straight into the Summer mood. Have to say that I was pretty much over the moon when I saw just how much the high street is embracing this trend. Primary colours are strong and bold and I love that impact on your outfit. You can wear an all-black outfit and then add a strong jacket and stunning accessories and you are dressed to make a statement.
Putting on a bright primary colour I find can also help give you a little boost of confidence on days where you may not be feeling it. Like the shoulder pads of the 80’s, you can totally own the room with power dressing in strong colours, and the effect is irresistible.
And if there is one person who knows how to add bright, bold and vibrant colours to her wardrobe and make it look effortless it is Sinead fromĀ The Girl with the Bob. She has a fantastic eye for colour and tailoring and certainly if I am struggling with how to wear a piece I will look to her Instagram for inspiration!
I tend to update my wardrobe with only a few pieces each season with regards clothing but love to add new accessories to the mix. And the Paint Box / Crayola Brights trend is certainly one where accessories can be an easy way to update your wardrobe. There are actually some amazing pieces by Irish Designers that could be perfect and bang on trend.
What do you think of this trend? Will you be incorporating it into your daily wardrobe?
