If there is one trend that is quite literally everywhere at the moment – it is polka dots. What I personally love about the trend is that it is so wearable for everyone – you can accessorise and just add a scarf or bangle or go head to toe dots – either way, one of the simplest trends to adopt.
‘There is never a wrong time for a polka dot’, – Marc Jacobs.
With the re-emergence of polka dots to the fashion scene, you need to think less about Minnie Mouse and morMary Katrantzou or Givenchy or Louis Vuitton or Dior. This is not a trend where it reflects back to a childhood summer dress – many of the pieces on the high street are stylish and can be perfectly dressed up for a business meeting or out for cocktails.
There are also some stunning retro feeling swimwear pieces out there as well. I have not featured any in my picks below but love the above! Certainly, I would advise if you want a polka-dotted swimwear piece, it may be advisable to shop now rather than waiting as I think that this trend will be worn all season but key pieces will sell out quickly (like the Topshop Shadow Spot Hanky Hem Skirt which I missed).
One of the most popular ways to wear the trend is with a romantic shirt/blouse – easily tucked into a midi-skirt or pair of black jeans for a fun or elegant look. The Clu – Polka Dot Shirt with Ruffle here is just fab and I also love this one. The dots add a playfulness to the wardrobe staple and also it is very easy to wear.
However, my personal favourite is a stunning polka dot dress. A flowy one that is Summery and also flattering. There are many on both the high street and also luxury websites – but one of my favourites is actually this H&M one.. It looks so flattering and the hems are just so playful – see below!
And on this Sunny Saturday, I wanted to share my top high street and one or two high end picks. These are my favourite pieces that are online at the moment, and with slightly duller weather due tomorrow – this could be the perfect time to pick up a few Summery pieces!
