Hailed as one of the most exciting high street collaborations of the year, the new Shrimps x Warehouse does not disappoint.
Hannah Weiland is the talented designer behind the stunning British brand Shrimps, and her cult pieces have graced the Fashion Week Catwalks for many seasons since its creation in 2013. She has ditched her signature faux fur coats and has embraced the Summer season with a collection full of raffia, her signature sketch print and adorable accessories.
The 40-piece capsule collection features dresses, twin-sets, bags, hats, playsuits, lace-up espadrilles, one-piece swimsuits and so man more pieces. There are pieces which feature daisy embroidery, floral patterns, gingham and some adorable hand sketches which I would always think is her trademark.
She says that she was inspired by; “A glamorous beach day drinking Campari Spritz under a striped umbrella, sitting on a gingham towel and playing Scrabble.”
The entire collection is playful and fun and will be perfect to take with you on holidays, OR if we are lucky enough to get a great Summer-perfect for a day at the beach or park. I particularly love the floaty tops and light summer dresses which will just be perfect to go from night to day with just a change in heels and a makeup refresh. Also, the t-shirt with the kissing seahorses is a great take on the classic white t-shirt. I would have loved to have had some of these pieces when in Capri.
What I do like about the collection is that they have not lost the quality of her work in the high street pieces, and I do think that many will last for years to come. This may be high street, but that doesn’t mean that this collection is fast fashion and automatically meant to be replaced next season!
The standout piece for is certainly the must-have bag of the Summer – the Daisy embellished raffia bag which is the perfect size and the daisies add an adorable factor to the piece. This is one collection that I think we will be coveting all Summer long, and one to shop now if you want to pick up a piece as it will be a sell-out. Set the alarm for tomorrow morning to pick up a piece!!
