Sometimes it can be hard to know what to do for Valentine’s Day so I thought that I would share some of the events that are on in Galway this year. And to start – why not head out with your girlfriends on Wednesday!! My top pick has to be Galentine’s Day in Hyde Bar, Galway!

Valentine’s Event – Galentines Day at Hyde Bar

Charity Event – Galway Parkinsons Coffee Morning

What's on in Galway This Week from 11th February 2019Art Event –Parallel Worlds art exhibition

  • Location – Galway City Library, Augustine Street, Galway
  • Time: 11:00-20:00

  • Details: Exhibition “PARALLEL WORLDS” showcases in the month of February at the Galway City Library. You can see and buy original art from the ‘X-Ray Flowers’ acrylic art series on canvas and ‘Galaxy Splashes’ watercolour art series created by Kaisa Holsting. PARALLEL WORLDS is an exhibition of two painting series that plays around with the ideas of life’s dualism and opposite sides of each and every one of our souls. Add to it a bit of hopeless romanticism, lots of colour and plenty of watercolour-like brushstrokes and you should’ve got the visual interpretation already.

What's on in Galway This Week from 11th February 2019Charity Event – 2019 Valentine’s Ball

  • Location – The Galmont Hotel & Spa, Lough Atalia Road, Galway, Ireland, Galway

  • Cost: Tickets for Valentine’s Ball are €100 per person and can be purchased directly from the charity by calling 091 863917 or emailing hello@breastcancerresearch.ie.
  • Details: One of the highlights of the Galway social scene, this year’s National Breast Cancer Research Institute’s Valentine’s Ball will take place on Saturday, February 16th in the stunning surroundings of the Galmont Hotel (formerly the Radisson Blu Hotel). Always a fun-packed night, the fundraiser will start in a glorious fashion with the Ignite Gospel Choir who will entertain guests as they arrive to a bubbles and canapés reception at 7.00pm. This will be followed by a five-course gala dinner with MC on the night, Ollie Turner from Galway Bay FM, keeping the evening’s events moving along while guests then dance the night away to The Jive Buddies. The annual Valentine’s Ball is one of the major fundraising events nationally for the National Breast Cancer Research Institute, based at the Lambe Institute for Translation Research, NUI Galway. All proceeds from the night will go towards funding the research team led by Prof. Michael Kerin at the Institute.

What's on in Galway This Week from 11th February 2019Charity Event – Fundraiser for the GSPCA “A walk with a four legged loved one”

  • Location – Merlin Park Woods, Doughiska, Galway
  • Time: 11:00-14:00
  • Cost: We will be there collecting with buckets on the day and every cent goes to the GSPCA. All we need is you, your Dog and a few euro 😉
  • Details: A fundraiser for the GSPCA. A 5k dog walk. Following on from February 14th I plan setting a side a special day to walk your four legged loved one on February Sunday the 17th. This event is open to all even if you don’t have a dog and would be a lovely family fun event, there will be plenty of dogs to see on the day and I am hopeful on the day the GSPCA will be able to bring a few dogs if anyone is thinking of adopting. Plan is to meet at the tennis Courts in Doughiska at 11.00am with a 12pm start.
