2018 Galway International Oyster & Seafood Festival
28th – 30th September 2018. Galway International Oyster and Seafood Festival will celebrate its 64th Birthday in September 2018 with a 3-day programme of fantastic events in the festival marquee on Nimmo’s Pier, Galway City! A three-day event celebrating oysters, seafood and our local heritage. The festival is also the proud hosts of the WORLD OYSTER OPENING CHAMPIONSHIP and has been described by the Sunday Times as “one of the 12 greatest shows on earth”. The first ‘Loving Galway’ sustainability festival
The first ‘Loving Galway’ sustainability festival will run from the 20-30th of September 2018, in celebration of the ‘Green and Blue’ spaces breathing life into Galway City. The festival is a unique collaboration and the festival builds on decades of activity by the City’s environmental community and is a legacy of Galway’s European Green Leaf designation in 2017. Charity Event – Mid-Autumn Festival Culture Night in aid of Western Alzheimers

- Details: This is a 50km cycle starting at the Claddagh hall in Galway, going along the Wild Atlantic way to Barna, then over gentle hills to Moycullen before the final stretch back to Galway. It is aimed at raising awareness about the benefits of exercise for everyone and especially for those with Diabetes. Funds raised go to Diabetes Care West, the charity of the Diabetes centre in Galway University Hospital and will be used to support activities for young people with Diabetes.

He co-wrote the song ‘Living In These Troubled Times’ which was a Top 10 hit for Crystal Gayle.
