Vodafone Comedy Festival – Ticket Release!
The Vodafone Comedy Festival is one of my favourite festivals of the year, as there is nothing more fun than spending an evening laughing at some amazing comedians. The tickets for this year are released on Tuesday 28th August @ 10:00 am. Click here for more details!

Fitness Event – Capoeira class

- Details: Capoeira is a Brazilian martial art with its roots originating in Angola and the Congo, that combines elements of dance, acrobatics and music, and is usually referred to as a game. It was developed in Brazil mainly by West Africans, beginning in the 16th century. It is known for quick and complex moves, using mainly power, speed, and leverage for a wide variety of kicks, spins, and highly mobile techniques.

MUSIC EVENT – SEÁN KEANE IN CONCERT
- Location – An Taibhdhearc, 19 Middle St, Galway
- Time: 20:00 (Doors 19:45)
- Cost: €25
- Details: Described as the distinctive voice of Ireland will bring his music to An Taibhdhearc in May, June and August of this year. Seán who comes from a very musical family in Caherlistrane Co. Galway has been performing around the world for nearly forty years. Born in 1961, he won his first of 13 Fleadh Ceoil medals for solo singing at 7 years of age. Seán will be joined by Fergus Feely on Mandocello and Pat Coyne on guitar.

Comedy Event – 2018 Festival Launch Party!

Art Event – The Materialists

- Details: 126 Artist-Run Gallery is pleased to present “The Materialists” a duo exhibition by artists Daire O’Shea and Sophie Gough. “The Materialists” is part of 126’s ongoing project “Un-set In Stone”, conceived in light of recent activities surrounding the destruction of National Monuments overseas. In chorus with this, the theme contemplates an art object which can be considered a ‘monument of sorts’; a symbol of the time in which it was made; a representation of society or societal concerns. Materialism also comes into play here, as the longevity of an object in both meaning and physicality, can disintegrate change or produce new meaning. Through the piecing together of materials in new ways, artworks of this nature can create altered perceptions and new forms of material meaning.
