This month’s Editor’s choice box was curated by Red Magazine’s beauty director Annabel Maggeson to celebrate London Fashion Week. She pulled the contents into this box as she wanted to breathe new life – and products – into her routine. There is certainly a reason why she is beauty director – she choose some really great contents and I am excited to share them with you.
The box unsurprisingly is red and these are the contents;
Too Faced Better Than Sex Volume Mascara
I have been wanting to try out the Better than Sex mascara for so long as have heard amazing things about them. And I was not disappointed – this was hands down the winner in the box for me. The actual brush is an hourglass shape and really gave me great results. I received the original version but I believe that some boxes also had the waterproof version. This is a generous sample and I will be using it over the next few days for sure!!
Rodial Smokey Eye pen
I really like Rodial products so I was happy to get one of their eye liners. Annabel rightly said that it is time to bring back out the smokey eye as we move into Autumn. The texture is quite gel like and smudges out beautifully. Certainly a good addition to the box and something that I will use.
The Organic Pharmacy Antioxidant Lip Balm
Again another product which I will use. The smell alone of this is just yum! It has shea butter and rose hip in it along with Vitamin E to protect and restore lips and so far I do really like this product. It’s also not sticky which is great as my pet hate is getting hair stuck on my lips. So this was a winner for me.
Catrice Cosmetics Volumizing Lip Booster
This is one of those lip plumping products that is slightly tingly on the lips and claims to add volume to your lips. There was no colour on the product but it was a dusty rose colour with sadly very little colour payoff. There was very little plumping after using the product but it is a nice gloss all the same. Probably the one item in the box that I will not be using.
Vitamasques Hydro Face Mask
This is certainly an interesting looking mask. It claims to keep your skin hydrated for 120 hours (nearly a week!) which sounds pretty amazing. It contains AMF (Artificial Moisturizing Factor) which it says that it enhances the skin’s ability to retain moisture. This will be great when the weather gets colder and I will be keeping this for a few weeks to use when the air gets that chill.
The Body Shop Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask
This was not on the leaflet in the box so I am presuming that this is an extra and that not everyone will get the same one. It is quite funny as I was literally just talking about this mask on Facebook and then poof a sample appears in my Glossybox 🙂 I am delighted with this sample and can’t wait to try it out.
Overall a pretty amazing Glossybox. I love the mascara and the masks the most out of it all and will certainly use them! I’ll keep my subscription for another month and this actually made me a little bit more excited to see what next month will bring.
